![]() For immediate release JUL 29, 2010: Our Time is Golden & Our Future is Now. The New Guard of Detroit goal is to bring together young business, legal, and service professionals throughout the world to help in the beautification of Roosevelt Park. Working within the guidelines of the International Lions Club, the guard is committed to starting a new Lions Club. The club is open to all to join by invite (via Lions Member) but with the majority of charter members under the age of 40. Annual Dues will be paid by each new member to the International Lions Club. In addition, seasonal fundraisers will be held by members of the Club and will follow closely to the instruction of the International Lions Club (this may provide the opportunity for matching funds to assistant with the charter’s mission). The New Guard mission "We Serve" is to be a pillar of support to the community with the opportunity ahead of them to transform the 9 acres of Public Park into an ideal location for activities and festivities year round. Working with Imagination Station, Corktown Resident Council, The Arc Association and countless other community organizations; the new guard of Detroit /Lions Club (upon receiving charter) will offer support in the area of projects that benefit Roosevelt Park. www.lcif.org/donate | First meeting of the NEW GUARD of DETROIT will be August 25, 2010 @ 6pm
