"
CORKTOWN MUSIC FESTIVAL is an annual event that takes place every fourth Saturday of July in Roosevelt Park. The park is located in the sprawling nine acres of public land surrounding the iconic Michigan Central Station. It is within these environs that we offer a day of celebration...
Corktown, the oldest neighborhood in Detroit, is filled with delightful character and a rich history. Traveling throughout the world, I returned with the dream of holding a festival in one of the places I feel truly at home. Detroit has a reputation world-wide as a great music/festival city. CORKTOWN MUSIC FESTIVAL is adding to this respect...
The creation of the festival is a new way of thinking about our future. This event is a blueprint for socioeconomic development. It is my goal to utilize the abilities and musical talent that is the blood of Detroit. It is in difficult times that the lotus flower of creation blooms from the swamp of adversity to restore vitality to the human spirit."
